Author Monalisa and Gyana Parija interact with children in Bakul on 28 December 2015 at BAKUL .
The author duo were welcomed by the volunteers and were taken around the Bakul children library acquainting them with the motive, achievements and programs of the Bakul Foundation.
The interaction with the authors began with an informal introduction followed by kids and authors exploring and showcasing their skills in dance, song, humour by telling jokes and doing what they love to do. The authors introduced short quiz games and finally wrapped it up with lots of short fun games with the children allowing kids to interact with each other and with the volunteers, breaking the ice, coordinating to exchange information and achieving a task, work in team and expressing self.
The conversations with Author got extended over coffee at the CCD where discussion involved questioning stereotypes, norms set by the society and important social issues that need to be raised and dealt with. Amidst fun and information, the interaction was not only fulfilling but quite informative, educative, uplifting and very inspiring.
We all agreed being courageous and the ability to question are two important qualities human beings need to be reminded and instilled with. Children need to be grown into responsible citizens who care for nature, society, women and child etc.
